ANNOUNCEMENTS
Students enrolled in Advanced Placement Statistics can now pick up their summer assignment in Room 446 with Mr. Gaitane. Any questions regarding the assignment should be directed to either Mr. Gaitane or Mr. Carter.
Students enrolled in Advanced Placement Calculus can pick up their summer assignment starting at 11:15 today in Room 446 with Mr. Gaitane. Any questions regarding the assignment should be directed to either Mr. Gaitane or Mr. Dunbar.Football Sign-ups: Anyone who missed the sign-up meeting on Tuesday and wishes to play football, may stop by the athletic department office for a sign-up sheet.
Weightlifting: Monday through Thursday, June 16th –August 14th from 6:00 to 8:30 PM, supervised by Head Football Coach Dave Morgado.
The AP English Summer Packet is ready to be picked up. If you are a student enrolled in AP English for the fall, please see Mrs. Tracy in room 494 before the summer break. This is a mandatory assignment for all students enrolled in AP English 2008/2009.
Current Juniors: If you are interested in participating in the Seniors Helping Freshmen Program during the next school year and have not signed up with Mr. Costa, please stop by Room 360 at your convenience. Contact information is needed.
ATTENTION JUNIORS: Any students with a Senior Portrait appointment scheduled during a final exam should attend their final exam. Any missed appointments will be rescheduled. Please see Mr. Desmarais or Mrs. Kaminski with questions.
FACULTY AND STAFF
To All Staff: The Career & Tech Ed Department just found out that we will be able to offer a free three credit graduate course through UMASS Boston - Preparing Our Student Population for the New Millennium. This will be a combination of an online course with a minimum of class meetings. George Taliadoros, who has taught courses for us in the past, will be the instructor. He will be here on Wednesday, June 18 from 11 AM in room 107 to noon to speak to anyone interested. If you cannot make this meeting, please leave your name with Lois in the CTE office. If you have any questions please call 1178.
ATTENTION FACULTY: B.M.C. Durfee High School has implemented a transition program for age appropriate incoming freshman that focuses on building strength in key areas of academics, study skills and self-esteem. We are looking for three teachers (including 1 Sp.Ed.) for this four week program. If interested, please contact Melissa Dennis. The deadline is Friday, June 20th. Click here for further details.
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL TEACHERS: The Superintendent and the Leadership Team would like to meet with teachers next week for the purposes of discussing professional and non professional teaching status as well as displacement due to reorganization or budget reductions.
The meetings will be held for the following groups on these dates:
Tuesday, June 17, 2008 from 4:00 – 5:00 PM – for Non Professional Teaching Status Teachers – Henry Lord Auditorium
Wednesday, June 18, 2008 from 4:00 – 5:00 PM – for Professional Teaching Status Teachers – Cafetorium, Spencer Borden School

The dates and times are:
Session 1: Monday, June 23rd 10am-12pm (Lord computer lab)
Session 2: Tuesday, June 24th 10am-12pm (Lord computer lab)
Session 3: Wednesday, June 25th 10am-12pm (Lord computer lab)
Session 4: Thursday, June 26th 10am-12pm (Lord computer lab)
In these sessions they will provide one-on-one help transferring and storing your old email and using the new email from Gaggle. Club Advisor positions CHANGE: Club Advisor positions have been posted under “Employment” on the district’s website. Please send letters of interest to Mr. Olsen. You do not have to complete the online process.

Important telephone updates:
Placing calls outside of building/district:
- Dial 9 plus the telephone number
- Disregard any tone you may get while dialing the number
- When you finish dialing, wait and your call will go through after a few seconds (again, Disregard any tone you may get)
Placing calls to another building in the district:
- Dial 97 plus the 3-digit extension
Calling room to room:
- When calling another classroom, you must first dial a 2 (i.e. room 400, you would enter 2400); if it is a two digit room, you must first dial 25 (i.e. room 56, you would dial 2556).
Reporting Faculty/Staff absences: Staff absences can be reported by calling 508-675-8100 and entering extension 2106 when you hear the greeting
