Students: Be sure to fill out your free and reduced lunch form.

In addition to assisting students who are having difficulty in academics, social or emotional and other concerns, guidance counselors are a storehouse of information regarding such matters as college and career choices, scholarships and financial aid, employment opportunities, testing and testing requirements (SAT, PSAT, ACT, etc.), course requirements.  Parents and students are encouraged to contact the guidance counselor at any time for help with these and other related matters.

Department Goals for the 2007-2008 School Year

  • To encourage positive and consistent communication within the Guidance Department. To openly discuss departmental policies and procedures as they relate to ensuring consistent procedures across all grade levels.
  • To expand student knowledge of, access to, and participation in the entire going to college process. This includes, but not limited to, the following:
    1. Increased number of students who sign-up for and take the PSAT, SAT, & ACT
    2. Increase student access and participation in college fair opportunities and contact with college representatives
    3. Increase parent awareness and accessibility to the FAFSA
    4. Create a more effective approach to the accessibility and awareness of scholarships for all students
  • To increase parent communication through, but not limited to: phone contact, scheduled meetings, mailing of progress reports and report cards when necessary, etc.
  • To continue to creatively build a more comprehensive guidance model. To augment communication with teachers and staff across all grade levels in support of student achievement
