Durfee Athletic Hall of Fame
Since its beginning, the Durfee Athletic Hall of Fame has inducted 198 athletes and five teams. All-American football players Lewis "Luke" Urban and Malcolm Aldrich were the first two inductees. The concept of a Hall of Fame was first introduced by Roger "Roddy" Sullivan in 1975 and after gaining further support in 1977, a charter committee was formed consisting of Chairman Sullivan, Ernie Baroody, Robert J. Nagle, Thomas Alecrim, Allen Jarabek, John McAvoy, Bob Murray, Peter Collias, Herman Mello. The first ceremony was held in February, 1980 on the Tom "Skip" Karam Basketball Court at Durfee.
